UK Visa Application Approved After 9 Days

Our appointment date for UK Visa application was last April 25, Tuesday. I wrote a guide here on how to apply UK Visa for OFW’s in Singapore.

The process was smooth and we didn’t encounter any trouble. We suggest if there’s available time, schedule your appointment in the morning slot. We arrived before our scheduled time and submitted all our prepared documents. We’re on our breakfast already when we remember we still have our passport photo, I forgot it’s inside my wallet. We just hope that we can get the result in less than 15 working days.

The processing time for UK Visa is 15 working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. This month, we have two public holidays, May 1 (Labour Day) and May 10 (Vesak Day).

We counted 15 days from the date we had applied and expecting to get our visa on or before May 18. I asked a friend who visited the UK before she assured that the processing time was fast as she got her visa after 4-5 working days only.

We will be in the Philippines on May 20, Saturday midnight. We needed our passport before our departure date, we keep our fingers crossed.

May 9, Tuesday – Before Vesak Day, we received an email from VSF with an email title, “Application Received from the post CRM:0001769“. It states that the processed visa application was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on May 9, 2017.

After two hours, they sent an email again with a subject “Passport Collection“.

Thank you, Lord! We’re truly glad that our UK Visa has been approved less than 10 days.

And, now we’re ready to travel London in 57 days and in the Philippines next week.

To avoid worries, always try to make your application well in advance of your intended travel date.

Collection of documents is between 8AM–4PM for Priority Visa and 2–4PM for Non-Priority Visa applicants (Monday –Friday, excluding holidays)
Ensure to bring along your payment receipt and a photo ID
If the applicant can’t collect his/her document just provide an authorization letter, the payment receipt and the photo ID’s of both the applicant and authorized personnel

Thanks for reading, hope this guide would help you, whoever is applying for a UK visa right now.

Stay tuned for my London diaries!
